The new  Florida Building Code 8th edition (2023) was finalized by the Florida Building Commission on June 16, 2023. The planned effective date for the FBC 8th 2023 is December 31, 2023. 

Projects permitted on or after this date will be required to comply with the 2023 Florida Building Code. Starting on this date, state law requires that product approvals be certified for compliance to the new code FBC 8th (2023). These product approval certifications will be in a new “Code Version 2023”, pull-down section of the Building Code Information System (B.C.I.S.) pages.
